An internet demographics report came out today stating:
Young people largely drove the early stages of Internet growth in the U.S. But in the last four years, most new growth in Web adoption came from people aged 55 and up
The following chart shows the full adult age breakdown:

To me it’s not that amazing that almost half of the adult online population is between the ages of 25-44. I guess what’s interesting is that adults over the age of 50 make up almost a third.
This is really interesting especially when there are so many young adults and children online. I guess as the internet gets bigger and bigger, more people from many different age groups will be coming online.
All the more reason to really do your research and think about who it is you’re targeting then building your web ministry around those people.
