I don’t believe I’ve mentioned Nick Usborne’s Copywriting Tip blog here before. Let me start the new year out right by passing along this site to you!
Today, as he does every Monday, he has a new tip for writing. Today the tip is: Write in the Language of Your Readers:
Whatever you are writing, whether for the web or an airport poster, write in the language and within the experience of the people who are going to read it.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. Writing copy in a way that your intended reader can understand is of utmost importance for effective communication. Avoid jargon and just communicate simplistically. I just wish I could do it that all all the time myself!
