Recently I’ve run across a new (to me) blog that I’ve been monitoring. It’s called Leave it Behind and it’s published by Brian Bailey who is the internet manager for Fellowship Church outside of Dallas. From what I’ve seen so far, he’s doing a great job and it’s one that I’ll continue to check out.
Today he published a nice, short 10 step list of how to build a better blog. I have to agree with all of his points:
- Use Categories
- Use Titles
- Publish During High Traffic Times
- Syndicate Your Entire Post
- Click Your Own Links
- Develop an Authentic Voice
- Tell Us Who You Are and How to Contact You
- Don’t Be Afraid to Promote
- Comment on Other Sites and Your Own
- The More You Write, the More You’ll Have to Write About
This is a great list and you can read how he develops his points on his posting. Add this to the Orangejack Blogging University I wrote (with more detail) last year and you should be really good to go!
Adding categories is something I’m really wanting to do for this blog, but I have to move off Blogger to do it. I’m still working through some hosting logistics so hopefully in the future I can get it all worked out.
