The other day I wrote about a great website for fonts and typography. To continue on that theme a bit (the theme of copy design), I wanted to link up a couple of cool sites for figuring out color.
Colours on the Web is a good place to start to get some history of colors, color wheels, and the like.
The Color Coordinator is really cool. You pick one color either by the RGB value, Hex code, or just visually pick a color you like. This site will automatically give you 3 colors (and their codes) that match and complement the one you picked. You can even tell it you want complementary colors, analogous colors, etc. Not sure what those mean? See the first site I linked above. Very cool.
Now you can use the color coordinator to convert RGB to Hex codes, but if you want a quicker, cleaner converter, try the RGB to Hex Converter. It also will go from Hex to RGB.
ProBlogger listed one I hadn’t seen before called the ColorMatch Tool but it won’t work in Firefox. Bummer.
Here’s to a colorful Friday!
