The rate of broadband adoption in the US at home has continually risen and is expected to hit close to the 70% mark by the end of 2005. In my mind, this has a couple of applications:
- More and more people in the US will be online more often. Therefore, the US mission field is becoming more and more accessible.
- Design applications can tend to become a little more advanced. Pages still need to load quickly, but sites can begin to add in more rich applications such as movies, music, and flash.
However, not everyone is there yet. Honestly, I think what this really means is there is a need, now more than ever, to have more effective web ministries. The chart there (click it for a larger view) is interesting showing how the adoption rate in US homes has climbed from less than 10% to almost 60% this century.
