Anyone have any experience in posting videos online and submitting them to Google or Yahoo?

I was having a conversation with a co-worker today about posting some videos online but making sure the basics are there for search engines to find them. We browsed around Google and found information about what Google likes. They like transcripts.

Anyone have any experience or knowledge of getting search engines to recognize videos?
