Here are 6 reasons to blog from a business perspective. I think it translates here also.
- Build your brand
- Improve customer service
- Increase employee awareness
- Build your reputation
- Bump your search engine rankings
- Make money
Okay, I don’t know if making money works well for non-profits, but I wonder if there can be a financial benefit from blogs. But you could also swap out “Make money” with “Minister Effectively”. It is, after all, the purpose of a business to make money. It’s the purpose of a ministry to minister.
Any other reasons to blog in ministry?

1. There can be a financial benefit if you are using something like Google Ads or recommending resources that people buy. But you’d have to have a pretty big following for that to happen.
2. It might be interesting to explore the different kinds of ministry possible. For example, you can’t really counsel someone effectively through a blog, but you might be able to do general membercare or discipleship…
7. Develop new relationships and increase networking among Christians.
One experience from my blog: I wrote an article about Christian film festivals. Two people read my article, attended the festivals and are now attempting to make a documentary on Christian films.
