I found this post that lists 14 Instant Messaging Etiquette Tips for Bloggers quite interesting. To be honest, I don’t publish my email, skype, or IM accounts because I don’t want random people contacting me. But then again, couldn’t that be an outlet for ministry?
Well, this is more about contacting others. I think these are some good tips to consider as you begin building relationships with other bloggers.

I have my IM accounts posted. I don’t have my IM software turned on that much, so I’m probably not the greatest example.
I did have a chat with a pastor in India a few days ago who was looking for prayer support. That was fun.
I also have a number of people on my list of contacts who live in Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) where I used to live. Just recently, one person from Cote d’Ivoire added me to their contact list. We haven’t hooked up yet, but I’m looking forward to the conversation when it happens.
I think there is great potential to use IM apps for ministry.
