Idea for Response Centers at effective web ministry notes

Idea for Response Centers

I was emailing with a friend the other day about setting up a response center. One idea I came up with is the idea of volunteers who have Skype use the Skype buttons to show availability.

I would think, though I’ve never tried, that you could have, say, five volunteers who have Skype get the code for their button and then paste them all into the response page. That way, if someone comes to the response page and has Skype, they could text or voice chat with someone right away…and they’d know who was available for such a conversation.

It’s an idea.

That’s a very cool idea and would even work as a value-added service for a bunch of us Church IT folks who are looking to branch out in that arena within our own locales. We could contract for a monthly fee and say that our response line is fully staffed. Then we could offer a cut to the people who handle calls each month. Or maybe not. Definitely a great idea and one that needs fine-tuning from a business standpoint.

This plugin for WordPress does that!

That’s cool, Sheldon. Can you add multiple accounts to it?

    it looks like it.

If you have more than one user account on a network (or you share your blog) just add both usernames to the box on in the admin panel, seperated with a space. The plugin will handle the rest.
