I turn 35 in a couple weeks. I don’t feel that old. But I do now. E-mail losing its clout in the world of text-driven communication:
E-mail is so last millennium.
Young people see it as a good way to reach an elder – a parent, teacher or a boss – or to receive […]
Back in the early days of the internet, web pages were scattered. Yahoo came along and tried to index them all. But AOL tried to go one step further…making the internet easily interactive. That’s how I got my start with online ministry: AOL chatrooms back around 1995.
I’ve thinking a lot […]
Firefox 2 beta is out and IE 7 has a download to check out also. I’ve downloaded neither.
But this is a nice comparison of the two.
Most notable for me is the RSS features FF2 is adding. Very slick and very open. I’m tellin ya, the clock is ticking on RSS ignorance.
Thanks to DJ, I just finished a presentation called Belief, Blogging, and Beyond Resources by Justin Long.
He’s got some nice history on blogs and some great points in the presentation. Thankfully he’s also linked up his outline in the post so you can use it to get your bearings.
Very nice job, Justin. Also, […]
Remember this banner ad from 1994? Me neither. But apparently it was the original banner ad, put out by AT&T.
Click it here and you can subscribe to our email updates from the blog!
How’s that for a little bait and switch?
I’m not a fan of McDonald’s, really, I haven’t been to one in years. But this is a
great billboard:

Maybe a church could use a cross sundial […]
Let me tell you how I met Blake. A while back, I decided to personalize Google and make it my start page. I like it. One of my favorite modules pulls in an image from Flickr’s “Interestingness” list.
Oh wait, I was telling you about Blake. You see, when I clicked on […]
Wow. This is really interesting.
According to this press release from Sandisk, they will begin selling jump drives with Skype already installed.
This means Skype users can take their Skype account complete with their contacts, settings and preferences on a device that is smaller than a pack of chewing gum and make calls, with […]
Seth Godin is a true marketer at heart. In fact, it’s one reason I follow his work. He “gets it”. Marketing isn’t about “making a sell”. It’s, well, here’s what he said:
…the real point of marketing. It’s not to sell something to person A. Instead, at least right now, it’s to […]
Google’s dual identity:
Market share, Industry ranking
Search: 49.1 percent, No. 1
Shopping: 12.6 percent, No. 7
E-mail: 8.7 percent, No. 4
Maps: 7.5 percent, No. 3
Entertainment (video): 3.3 percent, No. 7
Instant messaging: 1.1 percent, No. 8
Finance: Too low to measure
Some other interesting things from the article:
…Google is doing just fine financially — spectacular, in fact — without the benefit […]
