I am not aware of many websites ministering to the people of Japan. I know that we have at least one staff member there who has partnered with others to bring up evangelistic websites based on the movies The Da Vinci Code and The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
I think these are great strategies to get some momentum there, especially after I read this from RJC World: Japanese Web evangelism
- Japan is an educated, highly-wired society - almost everyone uses the Web (Over 61%)
- But the majority of Japanese do not have sufficient proficiency in English to access evangelistic websites in English, which in any case may not be very contextualized for Japan
- There are only a handful of evangelistic sites in Japanese - a major missed opportunity.
- Few Japanese are likely to know an evangelical personally. Since most conversions result from personal relationship, this means that few will hear the Gospel from a person they know.
- Cellphone-based evangelism also shows high promise for Japan due to high SMS and cell connection to mobile-oriented websites.
Looks to me we’ve got some work to do so that everyone in Japan will know someone who truly follows Jesus…and it seems the internet and SMS can play a significant role.
Thanks, Frank, for pointing out these demographics.

FamilyLife’s Mission
“Family” has been described as the international language that crosses all borders. Men and women around the globe want to know how to strengthen their marriages and raise children of character. It’s easy to understand why William R. Bright, founder of Campus Crusade said: “If we reach the family, we reach the world.”
FamilyLife is committed to effectively developing godly families that change the world one home at a time. The international purpose of FamilyLife is to serve as a resource to national ministries in motivating and equipping families and individuals (of all cultures) to glorify God, make Christ known, and be used by Him in a Family Reformation.
