Blog Post Frequency Doesn’t Matter at effective web ministry notes

Blog Post Frequency Doesn’t Matter

Eric Kintz (at MarketingProfs:DailyFix) wrote an article, “Why Blog Post Frequency Does Not Matter Anymore

He says what I have come to understand but not applied.

Here are some of his points:

  • Frequent posting drives poor content quality
  • Traffic is generated by participating in the community; not daily posting
  • Traffic is irrelevant to your blog’s success anyway
  • RSS fatigue is already setting in

If traffic is your goal, good content will get it there better. (Advertising helps, too!)

    I disagree.

    So there.

    1. I’ve found that not all my readers like my “good searchable reads”. They want the daily, miss the mundane, and “just enjoy my life”. The phone is hard for moms, and we are all insanely busy.

    2. It depends on what type of blog you have and who your audience is. Many people I can tell are depressed because their lack of posting. I can tell much about their mood and what’s going on in their life by what they are seeking for relief. You get to know a person by their posting habits.

    3. There is no 3. A list of two sounded uninformed.

The site that wrote that is Marketing Profs which writes more for professional bloggers than those that want to keep their friends and family updated.
