IE7 will come Automatically at effective web ministry notes

IE7 will come Automatically

Well, we know that Internet Explorer 7 will be distributed as an automatic update. From the IE Blog

To help our customers become more secure and up-to-date, we will distribute IE7 as a high-priority update via Automatic Updates […] [It] will notify you when IE7 is ready to install. Alternately, you will be able to visit the Windows Update or Microsoft Update sites and obtain IE7 by performing an “Express” scan for high-priority updates. Either way, you will see the welcome screen that allows you to choose whether to install it. (Users will also be able to download IE7 from the Microsoft Download Center.)

Rumor has it that this update may come as early as tomorrow! UPDATE: It probably won’t ship until after this Thursday.

To me, this will begin the tipping point for RSS because IE7 has RSS built into the browser. Similar to podcasting “tipping” once iTunes integrated it, RSS is just waiting for IE7 to push it into the mainstream.

Tip from Slashdot.

UPDATE: Steve Rubel says tomorrow will be The Day the Entire World Gets RSS
