Fast Loading Image Editor? at effective web ministry notes

Fast Loading Image Editor?

I’m looking for a fast loading image editor. Anyone know of something that works well?

I have Macromedia Fireworks as my image editor, but it takes a while to get it launched. Often I just need to make a copy of an image or resize it. That’s all. Something simple. And fast-loading.

And Paint just don’t cut it for me. Any ideas?

IrfanView is far and away my choice for quick editing. Very light-weight, loads fast, and does an excellent job for cropping, resizing, copying…AND it’s free.

Faststone image viewer has a nice editor which can do some basic things. Also the screen capture utility has a good editor too.

I agree with the earlier post, I think Irfanview is a great free editor that can handle a multitude of graphic formats.

Another free editor which seems has a better interface than IrfanView to handle sorting /editing a large group of images would be XnView (and it is also free)

    Both load up quickly.

Gimpshop is a free full-fledged image editor that works just like Photoshop, but it starts up about five times faster after the first time you run it.

It’s a hack on Gimp to make it look a little like Photoshop.

I use PaintShopPro by Jasc, now owned by Corel Company. It’s quite faster than Photoshop and in my opinion is one of the best for web-editting images.

Paint.NET works well and it’s free.

I use Irfanview a lot. Another free program that is more powerful and not as complicated as GIMP is Photofiltre. http://photofiltre.free.fr
