What a superb idea! My buddy, Dan, ministers with LeaderImpact Group, a ministry out of Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada. Currently Dan is on a mission trip to Panama City, Panama (not Florida!) and his most recent project update is great!
…my team headed out to a hotel downtown to run the “YouTube Fiesta (party)”. This event was co-lead by the local Campus ministry and our team. Invitations were distributed at local university campuses in Panama City. People were divided into teams and given random themes (For example, “How to lose a job”). Each team was provided a digital camera and they used those cameras to create videos based on those themes. After filming, Ian (my director) and I handled the editing duties. While editing, two Canadians shared their life stories and one of them presented the Gospel. We then showed the edited movies on the projector and big laughs were had by all. Humour is a universal thing.
What a creative idea for an outreach. Meet them where they are, encourage them to use technology they enjoy, be real, share the gospel, and build community by distributing the videos.
Great job, guys!
By the way, two people indicated a decision for Christ during this outreach and the videos will eventually make their way to YouTube.
