About
Welcome to this site to help you be more effective with internet ministry. This site is a blog which means you’ll find the latest conversations at the top of the homepage.
Yes, I said “conversations”! The way this site works is we start the conversation and you’re invited to leave public (or private) comments. We welcome your say on things!
The topics we cover here are tips and thoughts on what it takes to be effective at internet ministry. In short, it takes a purposeful look at marketing, delivery (technology and content), and response. Working through all three effectively sets the stage for effective online ministry.
So why three overlapping circles? Marketing is the piece that brings people to the site. If no one comes, everything else is in vain. But marketing penetrates into how the site is designed and contributes to the art of response. Delivery is the site itself — what you see and read. It’s the technology behind it and the design up front. Delivery effects they way you market and how people are able to respond to your site. Response is the art of following-up with people…it’s the interaction of the site. It may be public or private, offline or on. But the way you want to implement it touches how you market and design the site.
On September 21, 2004 Rob decided to open up a new website — a site where he could record the notes he had on what it takes to have an effective web ministry.
Effective web ministry notes opened as a blog on blogger. Just over a year later Rob moved it off blogger.com to wordpress. In 2005, Rob invited others to join him in recording their notes here also.
To help celebrate the two-year blogiversary on Sept 21, 2006, we introduced a new logo based on the three ringed logo we’ve used since the site opened. Although the principles for this effective web ministry foundation are still the same, we decided to give the logo a little update.
