How do Christians decide which bible passages are taken literally and which aren’t?
It’s weird, a lot of the time they say “don’t you know what a metaphor is?” like the stuff about having to hate your parents and your own life in order to be a true follower of Jesus, and stoning your children if they curse you.
But then the stuff about homosexuality and abortion (all life sacred etc.) has to be taken exactly as it is? Seems strange to me.
From the way some answer, you would think they just flip a coin.
