Who is the most important person in your life? – Oft times we overlook just who the most important person in our lives may be. Sometimes they are so close to us they are taken for granted. Hmmm! Doesn’t Holy Writ say something about a prophet or prophetess being without honor in their own country? This might be true of the most important person in your life; without honor. Hopefully you won’t throw out the baby with the bathwater!

While there are other people who may be at the stage of their lives where they have decided to ‘turn over a new leaf’ and create a new beginning for themselves. Some are in the process of ‘weeding’ out certain people, removing them from the ‘friends’ category to the ‘acquaintance’ category. It is my desire to perhaps be of being able to either recognize who the most important may be or perhaps you might need a few personal character guidelines to help you designate that important person.

In reality, the most important person in your life should be a person that, in wisdom, does not hesitate to express or confront you or anyone else concerning their true feelings; whether those feelings may be those of doubt, suspicisions, fears, dreams or joy.

The most important person in your life should be your mentor, interrogator, a good conversationalist, a person that strives for excellence in their own life, is non judgemental, one who has that possesses an invisible drive to encourage you onward, one that motivates you to stive for excellence with encoragment and praise. That person should be passionate in their pursuit of TRUTHFUL answers! That person should be inwardwardly, personally persuaded that the Word of God is the venue where TRUE answers can be found to “all” of our lives situations.

Your most important person should be your VERY BEST friend. However, if you sincerely don’t feel that you currently have a “very best friend” my advise to you is DON’T DISPAIR!

Get yourself a copy of a modern day translation of Holy Writ: the Bible. Begin reading it. The Book of John is an excellent place to begin. Read one chapter of Proverbs each day. There are 31 chapters in Proverbs so you’ll get through the whole book in just a month. Chapter 27 in the Book of Psalms is an excellent reading each day offering it to our Creator as a daily prayer. Develop a habit of beginning each day in quiet solitude with these readings and ask for guidance for that day.
