Keep sinning after you ask for forgiveness?
I’ve having a problem in my spiritual life. I feel like its all just a game. Everytime I sin, I feel horrible, and I go to God for forgiveness. But then shortly after I ask for forgiveness, I go and commit the same sin.
Romans 8 says that once we are saved, we can not be separated from him. But I feel I’m kind of taking advantage of God. I ’sin’ knowing that I WILL be forgiven, and I keep doing it. Its not just adultrous sins, but also other sins.
What does the Bible say of this? Are we allowed to just take advantage of God’s salvation and continue sinning? Obviously not, but what is a valid explaination and solution to this problem?
BTW, i’m not catholic. I’m protestant presbyterian.
All saved believers are still sinners.
The Lord continues to forgive. In fact, when you believe in Jesus for salvation, then you are already forgiven ALL SINS past, present, and future. Colossians 2:13!
Confessing sins is to restore close fellowship and intimacy with the Lord.
So why try to avoid sin? Because:
1) Sin might have painful consequences
2) Sin might cause loss of rewards in heaven, since the person would be wrapped up in sinful lifestyle instead of serving the Lord
3) Sin might damage a person’s witness of Jesus.
You should pray and ask Jesus to give you strength against sin, to give you His power and His Holy Spirit against sin and the flesh. If you walk in the Spirit, then you will not go after the lusts of the flesh. Jesus will give you His power to help you against sin! Just ask Him!
But you are forgiven all sins, and will be in heaven no matter what, when you believe in Jesus for salvation.
Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much!
The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in Jesus for salvation, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus alone for salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what!
Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus alone to save you! It is impossible to lose or “leave” salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).
Please pray now: “Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!” You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die!
