Letting go of a false gift.?

For years I never knew that I’ve been decieving myself in believing that I can draw, when what I really was able to do was copy someonelses artwork. I’m now 22 and have realized this based on one of joyce meyers teachings on you’re gifts and callings and also not hearing any answer from God regarding my calling. This confusion has kept me from having a stable job and barely looking for a job at all. Now me asking god to help me let go of the artisticness that I’ve held on to for so many years and have done nothing with, I noticed based on some of my past jobs and summer jobs that I can do basic organizing and also random help, but I don’t have typing or communication skills. I’m wondering how I can use my ability in the working field, because thats all the ability I know how to do., what should I do? My target for work (if god willing) is me working at a non-profit organization.

I don’t think God would want you to give up on any of the talents you have. Clearly you have artistic ability, but you haven’t found a path that you can use this talent in to earn a living. That’s okay. God may have another plan for your talent. In the meantime, you do need to work and make a living. Many communities have employment assistance groups that have placement tests to help determine your strengths and weaknesses. They can also help you with education and training. These services are typically free. Check with your unemployment office as they may also have services available to help you in finding a career path.
But don’t give up drawing. Having an artistic outlet is vital to our overall health and well-being. I visited a church that had prophetic artists up front during worship. There was a table up front and to the side with art supplies. Anyone who felt led would sit there and draw or paint. Some could draw or paint very well, some couldn’t, it didn’t matter. Some would share what they felt God was saying through their art. It was pretty awesome. Some would have a word for someone and would give the art to that person. The art blessed many, including me.
I do believe God has a destiny for you and I’ve just said a prayer asking Him to help you find your path. God Bless.
