Good game ideas for K-5th grade?

I’m helping out with vacation bible school at my church and I’m helping with recreation. we only have 15 minutes to play games, and the leader is never prepared with the game! I don’t have a book, so I don’t know what we are supposed to do. Does anyone have good game suggestions for kids k-5th grade that don’t take long?

Relay races are always fun. Think about the theme for your VBS. For example, if it has something to do with water or the ocean, you might do a race using those great big sponges and buckets of water … kids LOVE getting wet and messy. We did a county fair theme one year. Instead of the traditional “duck, duck, goose” we used animal sounds as the kids ran around (”quack, quack, honk” or “moo, moo, oink”). The idea for recreation time is to really get those kids moving for a few minutes … let them burn off some energy and get the blood flowing. The exercise will help them to think more and focus better for the classes that follow, and will also just give them a chance to just have FUN. Good luck!
