The Gideons make it there mission to leave a King James Bible in every hotel, motel, lodge, hospital, nursing home…

They want people to read the Bible and hopefully convert to Christianity if they don’t have the faith already. However, rather than approach people and attempt to persuade them through argument, they leave copies of the Bible in places like hotel rooms and hospitals and let people make up their own minds.

I believe they have been doing this for about 100 years.
